Teens Burglarize Police Officers Home
It’s a normally quiet neighborhood the on north side of Pueblo West, A neighborhood that is comprised of retired military, and federal agents and a lot of law enforcement.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. the entire neighborhood was filled with all of Pueblo County Sheriff Department. It was reported that Sheriff Department would contact roll call there, so that meant all of the Pueblo County Sheriff Department was on site. Not only was the Sheriff Department there the Criminal Bureau of Investigations (CBI) had a couple of units there as well.
They had surrounded a particular house on Will Rogers Drive. At first reports were coming in about to delinquent runaway children that were in the neighborhood. This was not the case it turned out the delinquents had just burglarized a police officer’s home just off of Buckboard Avenue, two houses away from their own home. The teens had broken a back window to enter the home and ransacked everything. They even found the police officers gun and discharged it inside the home.
However, the criminals set off a silent alarm that alerted the homeowner. The officer immediately came home and startled the two teenagers. He chased them out of the home and in to the arms Pueblo County Sheriff Department. It was obvious that the children we’re new to the neighborhood and had no idea what they’re getting themselves into.
According to The Pueblo Chieftain The 16-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree burglary, possession of a handgun by a juvenile, criminal mischief, felony theft, illegal discharge of a firearm and a protection order violation. And the 15-year-old suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree burglary, possession of a handgun by a juvenile, criminal mischief and felony theft. So now the once quiet neighborhood has been scarred by criminal activity in an ever rising crime infested country. Is any neighborhood safe anymore?
